We have a few conflicting masters here:
- Improving "manageability"
- Staying relatively small by default
- Continuing to drive forward containerization
storaged isn't the only thing in this section either, see
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1303546
for discussion about Ceph/GlusterFS clients.
I think it'd be good to step back for a bit and
consider what we can and cannot do with the technologies
available. It's might be the case for example that rpm-ostree package
layering will make the most sense for some things like
NetworkManager-team. On the other hand we have
increasing work on system containers, and one unexplored
area there is adding some concept of host dependencies to
system containers.
